To The Editor: It is with great interest that we read the article by Lau et al.1 (Lau D, Leach MR, La Marca F, et al: Independent predictors of survival and the impact of repeat surgery in patients undergoing surgical treatment of spinal metastasis. Clinical article. J Neurosurg Spine 17:565–576, December 2012). This is a thoughtful and well-designed case series in which the authors show that patients with recurrent spinal metastasis could benefit from repeat surgery. However, we still have some disagreement on the viewpoint of the authors.
