A myloidosis , the extracellular deposition of abnormal protein material, is a well-known entity exhibiting a variety of clinical manifestations. Amyloid may be deposited at local sites or systemically and can affect any tissue; 22 however, a mass lesion of amyloid involving the central nervous system (CNS) is a rare finding.
