There have accumulated in the medical literature of the past decade reports that have concerned themselves with the patterns of frequency of ABO blood types in a variety of diseases. When projected against the blood-type distribution of control populations, the ABO blood types often showed deviations of varied statistical significance. A direct correlation between susceptibility to certain diseases and specific ABO types has been proposed.
In recent years, conflicting reports have arisen from a number of similar surveys conducted among patients with brain neoplasms.1,4,5,9 Selverstone and Cooper5 noted that patients with
